Hi, I'm Show-"G", a 43-year-old male, born and raised here in
Japan. I work for Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (Japanese Navy), and
live in Chiba, 30 miles east of Tokyo.
In late 1997, I happened to drop by a bookstore
and opened an astronomy magazine. Then I
discovered modern amateur astronomy is fully
computerized!!......."GOTO Pointing",
"CCD Imaging", "Auto Guiding",
and "Digital Development & Processing".....Wow,
cool!! That really amazed me. Then I started
out my CCD imaging work.
I have no observatory, instead I set out
for dark skies with my telescope equipment
packed in my "TOYOTA" on every
clear night. Some people call it "Mobile
Imaging", and I really enjoy it.
But my wife "Doreen" is always complaining about that.........
Because we have three feisty little kids, 9-year-old "Satoko",
7-year-old "Yuko", and 3-year-old "Takahiro".
Some visitor emailed me, "Nice to know
wife's influence over husband's astronomical
endeavors is universal!!". But how is
your wife,folks?
Clear skies!!

I met Miss Kathryn P. Hire, one of the NASA Astronauts. She flew space
shuttle "Columbia" as a mission
specialist in APR98 (STS-90).
She is also U.S. Naval Reserve Commander,
and came here in Yokosuka Japan for a bilateral
naval exercise between the U.S. Navy and
the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. We
worked together at headquarters as exercise
coordinators representing each Navy during
2-9NOV99, and I really enjoyed it. That was
one of my greatest experiences in my life........
Many thanks Commander Hire, looking forward
to watching her next launch on TV or the
NASA website!!
