解説

Radio 2 は英BBC のラジオ･チャンネルのひとつで、やや大人向けの番組を主体に放送しているが、フォークや伝統音楽を積極的に紹介する番組も有しており、その分野の音楽で活躍したシンガーやミュージシャン、バンドやグループを表彰するフォーク･アワードを毎年開催している。
この3枚組CDには、2010年度のRadio 2 フォーク･アワードの各部門にノミネートされたアーティスト22組の既存音源と、アマチュアの若手アーティストに贈られるヤング･フォーク･アワードの最終選考に残った6組によるライブ音源が収録されている。
内容としては各アーテイストの既出のアルバムから1曲ずつ集めたコンピレーションであるが、2009年中に話題となった面々の楽曲をレーベルの垣根を越えて22曲も収録している点を特筆したい。若手アーティスト達のライブ音源も、それぞれが高度な演奏技術、斬新で個性ある楽曲を披露してくれており聴き応えも十分。
